My theory is that because you get such a significant pay off when that particular job is done, you want to minimise as much as possible some other looper taking the loot from the kill (we already see that Joe keeps half the silver from the job, so it would be reasonable to assume it is easy to take a good proportion of the reward and pass it off as just another job).

The best way to do that might be to have the young looper be the one who does the job so they make sure they get the pay day.</description>
